Historic church

The first Christian church was situated in the village of Ishwarpur in Shyamnagar upazila of Satkhira district. According to the information, there were three Hindu states named Bakla, Sreepur and Jashohar. It is also known from the information provided by FF that a Christian priest named Fonseca reached Ishibpur, the capital of Pratapaditya on November 20, 1599. There he met another Christian pastor Father Sosar.
