Rivers

Kobadak:
Kopotakshand, who was buried in memory of the poet Michael Madhusudan Dutta, entered Satkhira district through Keshabpur, Chougacha and Jhikargachha of Jessore district. After touching the famous place of Patkelghata, Tala etc., the Rishuli got mixed in the river Shibsa. Kopotakshandra Khulna- According to the boundary of Satkhira, progressively southwards, the name of Arpangasia near Shyamnagar Upazila named Shypangasia, and through the Sundarbans, joining the Malanch river, in the Bay of Bengal.

Ichamatyamamuna:
Ichamati and Jamuna rivers of the two main branches of the river Ganges. The Mathabhanga river is named after a branch of West Bengal's Krishnaganj. From there, a branch called Ichamati was the first to advance. It crossed West Bengal's Bangram (Bongaon) first to Chandura border of Kolaroa upazila and flowed along some distance to international boundary and then again entered Gopalpur inside India. Then Jamuna-Ichhamati meets in the mouth of Tippera near Charghat south of Gobardanga and surrenders to Jamuna Ichamati and extincts its name. When talking about the characteristics of the Yamuna, Satish Chandra Mitra wrote that Jamuna is a kind of person that he can not move forward for a long time. He writes, Ichamati has straightened in the south. As the Bangladesh-India border indicates, the rivers of Devshata upazila, Devshata and Devshata, passing through the village flows past the northern boundary of Basantpur village of Kaliganj upazila. Later, on the side of Kaliganj, it reached southwards and reached Ishimpur of Shyamnagar upazila. However, local residents know that the canal which is currently flowing in Shyamnagar from Kaliganj is dead as Jamuna. The place known as Jahajghata, near Khanpur in Motala and Shyamnagar of Kaliganj upazila, has memories of the past. Further tradition of the lost tradition of the Jamuna river is found in the conventional tradition - the Yamuna will not die, the people will not fall. As a result of this dilemma of the river Yamuna, it is known from different texts and people, that there is a storm in the region on 12th Kartik (1 November 1867) of 1274 AD. It increased up to 12 feet in the Sundarbans night. The next day, there is a lot of change in the flow of Yamuna. The speed of sand in the sand becomes very depressing. Kalindi's tide entered the Jamuna and blocked it. As a result, Jamuna was almost dry in a short time.
Jamuna-Ichamati is again divided into two groups near Ishipur. On the right side of Jamuna (west), a little later, entering the Sundarbans with 'Mother' name went to some extent and went to the Bay of Bengal with the name 'Jamuna'. And Ichamati on the left side of the name of 'Kadamtali' on the left side, mentioning the boundary of the Sundarbans in Munshiganj, Kadamtali has been named 'Malancha' by the forest office and has fallen into the Bay of Bengal through the Sundarbans

Kalindi:
A branch from Jamuna flows straight south to Basantpur in the west of Kaliganj upazila. It is known as Kalindi. This river is now pointing to the border between Bangladesh and India. Kalindi was like a common canal during Raja Pratapaditya. It was excavated in 1816 and it was further added to the Kangachasia river. Later it is said that the Kalindi has become the big river in the forest. Through the international border, Kalindi ran through Raymangal in the Bay of Bengal.

Kakashi:
Kalindi was associated with Gallegasia near Wazirpur on the eastern side by cutting a canal from Jamuna of Kaliganj before joining Kalgachhiya. It is known as 'Kakshiyali' river. The British engineer, Winiyam Kokshal, excavated this canal. According to his name, the name of this canal is 'Kakashiali'

Betty (Betrobati):
A branch of Bhairab sits in the river. In Satkhira district on the Nawar-Baghachra of Jessore district. The Kolaroa flows over the municipality, and it has been named Guddanga, Sadar upazila, Binapota, and East of the south, with the buzzing of Budhahata. Then in the south of Manikkhali the other got mixed up with Murichapa. A branch from here goes eastwards on the top of the pedestal, and the other branch is mixed with Kholpetua on the south.

Kholpetua:
Assasuni Upazila's Manikkhali, Bethena and the Mirchachap River hold the name Kholapetua and proceed to the south. By the way, touching the place of Kapasanda, Goral, etc., in the Ghola called Gallegasia River. Then proceed further southwards to the name of Arpangasia in Burigolini near Nawabi of Shyamnagar upazila and meet with Kavtaksh in Parshemri.

Gallegasia:
A branch from Kholapetua river at the place of Ghola in Shyamnagar upazila has flowed northwards to Kaliganj-Assasuni after Shyamnagar-Assasuni. It is known as 'Gallegasia'. In the meantime, it touched Yamuna flow along the Kakshayali river by touching the site of Banshtala, Mahishkur, Srioula etc. At present, the 'Gallegasia' river has been filled in many places. As a result of this, large vessels can not be run by the time. In this, the heritage of Rahisuddh Haat situated on the banks of the river has become very unimportant.

Murphy:
This river has reached the Satkhira Sadar upazila through the direction of Asharoni upazila. The presence of Kamalakati, Shovnali, Chapra etc. of Assasuni upazila has merged with Beetna and Kholpetua rivers in Morichapa Manikkhali.
